Nice 4 day weekend. Yay! A trip to a resort with a lot of family and friends. This should be fun. It is a 100 mile 1 way trip which is long enough to be a drive but short enough not to be a pain. Unless you make that round trip 3 times in 4 days and thus log over 600 miles.
My son has had a cold for a few days (he's 11 months old) and Saturday morning he woke up and sounded pretty bad. I drove home at 4am in order to be in town when our pediatrician's office opened up on Saturday morning. It isn't easy to call and ask for an appointment but tell them it has to be at least 2 hours away. It is even more difficult to call and make an appointment when their phone lines are broken. I had to walk-in to make an appointment. Dr. says it is an ear infection (rather obvious in hind-sight) and writes a prescription that I can fill at the pharmacy up by the resort. Great! Drive back at noon on Saturday get to the Pharmacy and insurance denies the prescription. There goes $72 that I now have to fight with insurance over. Saturday night was awful my son woke up 4 times.
Decided to let Grandma and Grandpa watch him Sunday (their house is familiar we figure the unfamiliar location and not feeling good and all the new people probably were contributing factors to his lack of sleep). So Sunday night I drive home and back (200 miles in 3 hours FTW) and then drive home again Monday morning.
I like driving, but that sucked.
